A small native app for keeping track of side projects that never seem to finish. Built over a few weekends as an exercise in shipping something small and complete.
The interesting part of building this was the sync engine — I needed offline-first behaviour with real-time updates when online. I ended up using a CRDT-based approach.
What I learned
Shipping a real native app, even a small one, exposes you to a lot of operational concerns you don’t deal with in web work: app review, provisioning, crash reporting, ratings prompts. None of it was hard, but all of it was new.
